Artist Statement: My boxed assemblages and engraved gourds are created from my collection of special, found objects, some natural (stones, shells, bones, eggs, wings, feathers, wood), and some man-made (paper, thread, beads, glass, metal). The boxes and gourds become containers for particular, ineffable, symbolic associations. The intricate detail of my work creates a visual environment that invites contemplation, and evokes a sense of the mysterious.
