Monty Monty’s Vintage Collectible Sculpture & Assemblage

Using cast off objects, vintage and antique collectibles, curios, and the occasional family heirloom, Monty Monty transforms and transcends the history and the original function of the many and various component parts he uses to create his signature "Vintage Collectible Sculpture & Assemblage."

Whirly gigs, fire trucks, race cars, roosters, airplanes, dogs, bunny rabbits, tin men, bicycles, robots, train locomotives, hot air balloons, musical instruments, fish, motorcycles, and steam punk inspired kinetic contraptions are just a few of the many assemblage sculptures Monty has created over the years.

I do not weld. I take great care restoring each component part as I work to create a renewed vintage quality in each of my sculptures. Breathing new life into all the parts and pieces I use, I hope to offer the viewer new ways to look at old things that might have otherwise been cast off, discarded, or thrown away.

Over the many years that Monty exhibited his work at Quicksilver in Sebastopol and Forestville, he was one of the Gallery's most popular artists. Maintaining a studio in the western Sonoma County, Monty continues to show in local galleries and juried exhibitions. His work is also in many public and private collections nationally and internationally, including his legendary "Whale" sculpture (25' long!) on permanent display in Santa Rosa Junior College’s Doyle Library.
